The Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) section within PFP works with National Committees and UNICEF country offices to maximize income and drive income growth. There are five units within the PSFR section. The purpose of the Corporate Partnerships team is to drive impact, defined as financial resources in addition to other valuable assets and opportunities, in order to optimize the value of the partnership to achieve UNICEF’s strategic goals. The team supports key UNICEF Divisions with partnership strategies as well as supporting National Committees and Country UNICEF Offices with their strategies for growth. The team also champions and drives global best practice, partnership strategy and issues guidance and policies globally. Team members also play a role in the relationship management of key partners

Under the general guidance of the Corporate Alliances Manager (New Business), this post will focus on prospecting new corporate partnerships, leveraging both financial and non-financial resources. The post will work to build these corporate partnerships alongside a lead National Committee or Country Office/Regional Office. The post will also help build specific National Committees and Country Offices skills and capacities in new partnership development.

How can you make a difference?

  • Works with National Committees and Country Offices to manage the full cycle of building new partnerships to achieve financial and other targets set by UNICEF: Supports UNICEF offices on their one-to-one prospecting and negotiating of new business partnerships. Responsibility for driving a global pipeline of prospects that convert into six and seven figure US$ partners in these priority countries. Provides strategic advice to ensure these partners are multi-year and offer high ROI.
  • Contributes to, and coordinates elements necessary to, build the capacity and skills in new corporate partnership development across UNICEF offices globally: Contributes to the development of content and materials on how to secure partnerships with corporates via webinars, workshops, training sessions etc. Identifies and shares best practices and case studies across the UNICEF Corporate Partnerships network that support the global strategy.
  • First point of contact for new partnership development across the UNICEF network: Responds to inquiries by key National Committee and Country Office on new partnership development.
  • Manages risk: Acts as the co-ordinator for the due diligence process for new partnership development and liaises with other risk management departments, including communications, to ensure risk through new partnerships is both identified and managed.
  • Develops partnership models, products and materials that support the development of a portfolio of partnerships. Analyzes New Business practices across all markets with the aim to develop a series of partnership models on Cause Related Partnerships and/or Customer Fundraising and/or Multi-faceted partnerships and others that can easily be rolled out. Develops propositions for multi-faceted partnerships with corporates and coordinates with other key UNICEF Divisions.
  • Coordinates the emergency corporate fundraising strategy and implementation: in collaboration with other key units develops, promotes, monitors and coordinates global efforts to raise income from prospects for humanitarian emergencies.
  • In coordination with the Corporate Partnerships Manager contribute to the development, planning and implementation of the Global New Business Corporate Partnership Strategy.

    Education:

  • Advanced university degree in Business, Marketing, International Relations, Social Sciences or related fields. A first university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional work experience in fundraising, marketing, sponsorship, and corporate fundraising including experience in roles involving securing commercial deals ideally at a value of US$1million+, or equivalent corporate fundraising experience is required.
  • Experience working in or with developing countries is an advantage.
  • Proven experience of identifying, developing and securing a new business pipeline, including successfully securing new corporate partnerships at a US$ 6 figure per year and above funding value is desirable.
  • Experience working in corporate marketing, sales, or CSR functions is desirable.
  • Experience of working within corporate fundraising in an international organisation is desirable.
  • Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English required, with fluency of another UN language considered as highly desirable.
